Which Fabric Varieties Are Compatible With The Fusible Interlining?

Sep 08, 2018

Rayon fabrics are more sensitive to temperature and pressure and should choose lower fusible interlining. Synthetic fabrics, such as polyester and nylon, do not absorb water and have heat setting property. The wrinkles of pressing are difficult to eliminate. Therefore, the pressing temperature should be below the setting temperature. It is advisable to choose polyester or polyamide  fusible interlining with better adhesion.

High pressure bonding of uneven surface will destroy the surface characteristics of the fabric. Low pressure bonding lining, thick and medium fulcrum soft woven bonding lining or point knitting bonding lining should be selected.

Smooth surface of the fabric easy to occur glue penetration to make the surface rough, it is appropriate to choose fine glue particles bonding lining, such as medium and fine mesh soft woven bonding lining or sheet non-woven bonding lining. The same elastic lining should be selected for elastic fabric. The fabric with strong drape should be knitted or lined. Rigid fabric should be selected with non woven adhesive lining. Soft woven fabric should be selected with soft woven adhesive lining or knitted  fusible interlining.

Different styles of fabrics should be used, and the choice of interfacing should also be different. Transparent or translucent fabrics are prone to glue penetration or glue reflections, so choose a matching color of fine cloth and fine particles, such as the matching color of fine, high-count mesh soft woven bonding lining or matching color of 10 grams of sheet-like isotropic bonding lining.
